A total of 21 players associated with International Cricketers Association (ICA) participated in the Pakistan Super League 2022. Out if these 21, 7 players featured in the final while 4 of them ended up winning the PSL. Following are the details of these stars:
ICA Players in Lahore Qalandars:
Lahore Qalandars won PSL 7 with four ICA players in their side. Dean Foxcroft, Mohammad Hafeez, Abdullah Shafique and Imran Randhawa were part of Lahore Qalandars. Foxcroft recently signed a deal with Team ICA, and then won the PSL in his first stint. He featured in one game of PSL 7 where he took a great catch of Ben Cutting. Mohammad Hafeez is one of the senior-most player associated with ICA, he was the Man of the Match of PSL 7 final as he played a key role in winning the PSL for Lahore Qalandars. Abdullah Shafique was another important part of Lahore Qalandars who gave them good starts in every game with his consistency.
ICA Players in Multan Sultans:
Rumman Raees, Johnson Charles and Aamer Azmat from ICA played for Multan Sultans in PSL 7. Aamer Azmat showed great potential in the 3 innings that he got a chance to bat in. His strike rate in PSL 7 was 126. Johnson Charles was with Multan as a backup but didn’t get any chance with the bat. Rumman Raees picked 3 wickets in the tournament for Multan Sultans.
ICA Players in Quetta Gladiators:
A major chunk of ICA Players featured in Quetta Gladiators. Sarfaraz Ahmed, Umar Akmal, Naseem Shah, Mohammad Hasnain, Khurram Shehzad and Iftikhar Ahmed played for Quetta Gladiators this season. Sarfaraz Ahmed had a good time with the bat, as he won a Man of the Match award in the game against Islamabad United. Umar Akmal was the biggest surprise of the tournament. He struck 10 sixes in 5 games and had a healthy strike rate of 174 in PSL 2022. Iftikhar Ahmed also had one good outing, where he score a brilliant fifty.Naseem Shah was the best player for Quetta Gladiators in PSL 7. He took 14 wickets, and also became the first Quetta bowler to pick a fifer in PSL history. Naseem also featured in PSL 7 official team of the tournament.Mohammad Hasnain was also very good in PSL 7 before he was ruled out of the event. Khurram Shehzad was an underrated star for Quetta Gladiators, he won one Man of the match award in PSL 7. Khurram Shehzad picked 5 wickets in 2 matches for Quetta Gladiators.
ICA Players in Islamabad United:
Asif Ali, Faheem Ashraf, Mohammad Akhlaq and Danish Aziz from ICA were part of Team Islamabad United in PSL 7. Faheem Ashraf was the best amongst them, as he showed great hard-hitting in the death overs for Islamabad United. Faheem scored 121 runs at an aervage of 30 and a strike rate of 177. With the ball, Faheem picked 9 wickets.
ICA Players in Peshawar Zalmi:
Peshawar Zalmi had the best performing ICA players in their side for PSL 7. Mohammad Haris and Salman Irshad were brilliant in PSL 7. Haris on his debut won a Man of the Match award while further in the tournament he leveled the record for the joint 2nd Fastest fifty of PSL. Salman Irshad was incredible with his death bowling. He picked 15 wickets and was the highest wicket taker for Peshawar Zalmi. Apart from Haris and Irshad, Sameen Gul was also a part of Zalmi.
ICA Players in Karachi Kings:
Sahibzada Farhan from ICA represented Karachi Kings in PSL 7. Sahibzada Farhan scored 51 runs in 5 innings for Karachi Kings during PSL 7.
ICA wishes to have more players on board and promote the talent in these leagues just like ICA did in promoting Dean Foxcroft, Johnson Charles and others.
