Yasir, a wrist-spinner who made his international debut at the advanced age of 28, has since made up for lost time after breaking the Pakistan record for time taken to reach 50 Test wickets. Yasir reached the milestone in nine matches, a phenomenal achievement given it means averaging more than five wickets a Test.

He spins the ball hard getting both dip and turn, a combination that often spells double jeopardy for the batsman.

With 70 Test wickets now to his name, he promises to be a vital component of the Pakistan team touring England this summer, with the potential to take wickets aplenty if  England’s tour of the United Arab Emirates last winter was anything to go by. On that occasion he led the way with 15 wickets in two Tests.
