Rumman was thrown into the 2017 Champions Trophy semi-final against England to make his one-day debut after Mohammad Amir was injured. He acquitted himself well, taking two wickets for 44 as Pakistan beat the hosts to set up a final against arch rivals India. Pakistan won that encounter, too, though Rumman had to watch from the sidelines after Amir returned to the team.
A skilful fast-medium bowler, he can produce swing and cut all with a good change of pace – attributes that helped Islamabad United to win the inaugural Pakistan Super League in 2016.
