World Stars vs Qatar Stars - Qatar National Day Celebration Match
Let’s do the math as they say in America. Eight teams playing T20, five days, four innings a match, and one winner – the Nepali Rhinos.
And what a prize it was too for the champions, a fabulous 2X Cricket USA trophy and U$60,250.
If cricket in Texas wasn’t radical enough this was T20 as it has never been played before – across four innings of ten overs each.
Some teams rose to the challenge better than others. For those that did, totals tended to rise. In the final, the Nepali Rhinos made 197 runs in their two innings, a total that proved too good for the Houston Sparks captained by Kamran Akmal, the former Pakistan Test player.
Akmal was one of several Pakistan legends who attended the event. Saeed Ajmal, Aamir Sohail and Asad Ali, each represented by the International Cricketers Association (ICA), all strutted their stuff and had a good time.
On their behalf ICA would like to thank 2X Cricket USA for a superb tournament held in the Moosa stadium in Houston. It was superbly organised by Max Shaukat, Sakhi Muhammad and Riaz Babar, with excellent sponsors both local and international.
We were very happy to be involved in our small way and if this was the first edition, it is surely destined to become a best seller and a huge success.
